The Sasaki Lab—founded in 2012—represents a team of scientists working on the roles of GTP energy metabolism on human diseases, in particular cancers and metabolic diseases. We discovered the existence of a GTP sensor, which has the effect of propelling tumor growth (Molecular Cell, 2016), and how the GTP sensor is evolved (Structure, 2022). Furthermore, we discovered a tumor-promoting reprogramming of GTP metabolism (Nature Cell Biology, 2019) and spatial regulation of GTP metabolism within a cell (Biochem Biophys Res Commun. 2019). We continue to investigate the GTP-metabolism—regulation and roles of GTP-energy sensor—by taking the "GTP" way.
